ToeToe Workshop (Future & Accessibility) is a visionary project by Plan d- where we build an inclusive future for the performing arts. Here, talent development meets a vision of accessibility: whoever you are, and whatever you need.
At ToeToe, performers with diverse accessibility needs collaborate as equals on performances. We see the diversity of backgrounds, bodies, languages, and movement styles as an enrichment of the artistic process. We create a safe and professional environment where there is room for experimentation, for being different, and for encounters. Not as an exception, but as a starting point.
We consistently observe that children are more open than adults. In our inclusive youth performances, they don’t see “an actress in a wheelchair,” but simply a character who matters. By demonstrating this naturalness from an early age—with diverse performers and, for example, the use of sign language—we contribute to a future in which the performing arts truly belongs to everyone.
ToeToe is a work in progress. We strive to be inclusive not only on stage, but also beyond: in our team, our communication, and our working methods. This requires reflection, collaboration, and knowledge sharing. That’s why we’re building a network with other creators, thinkers, students, and partners – to explore together what inclusion in dance and theatre truly means.
ToeToe is curious, playful, and serious at the same time. Ambitious and always in motion.
